Christian Landry, a member of PROTEO-Laval and professor in the Department of Biochemistry, Microbiology and Bioinformatics, stood out from 670 proposals. His project, aimed at unlocking the secrets of cellular and molecular evolution, is an international collaboration with Hisao Moriya, a Japanese specialist in cell biology, and Kimberly Reynolds, an American researcher in biophysics. They will attempt to answer a fundamental question in biology: why do cells produce precise quantities of each protein? Funded to the tune of US$1.2 million, their discoveries will contribute to our understanding of the evolution of cell biology.
